More Able Provision across the curriculum

NACE Challenge Award

We have achieved the NACE Challenge Award for outstanding provision for More Able Children across the school in ALL subject areas.

To attain the Challenge Award, schools must complete a detailed self-evaluation using the NACE Challenge Framework, submit a portfolio of supporting evidence, and undertake assessment by a NACE associate. The assessment process includes examination of school data and key documents; lesson observations; and interviews with school leaders, learners, parents and governors.

Following our assessment process, the NACE report emphasised several important points:

"Oasis Hobmoor is an exceptional school that provides a vibrant and exciting curriculum that promotes active learning and builds cultural capital through the wide range of learning experiences both within and beyond the school day and the confines of the school itself. The school is firmly rooted in its community and understands and serves that community very well."

"The focus on meeting the needs of MA (More Able) pupils remains a key focus within the school’s development plan. The school’s leadership team is highly aspirational for its pupils and provision for More Able (MA) and Exceptionally Able (EA) pupils is central to that aspiration and woven through all aspects of school life."

"The school have shown a commitment to meeting the needs of MA pupils and, to achieve this, they have worked diligently to embed highly effective practice in teaching and learning, drawing on research and securing consistency through rigorous monitoring and support for staff development."
